If At First You Don't Succeed...

I don't think my story is particularly unique. Like others, it's been a lifelong dream - born out of a childhood memory, fascination, or idea - that I could be on America's favorite quiz show. My first try-out was for the Teen Tournament when I was 16. I went to the Sony Pictures Studio in Culver City to take the 50 question test, and I have to say, was quite struck by how difficult the test was. Needless to say, I didn't even pass the test, but I vowed I would be back. Since then, I've tried out a few more times - the College tournament (didn't get an invite to take the 50-question test), the adult test in 2004 where I felt I was on the bubble for passing (won a hat, did not pass), the online test in 2007 (definitely did not pass), and the online test in 2008.

Actually, I didn't think I passed the 2008 test either since I hadn't heard from anyone in a year. Yep, it took almost a full year to get an invitation to an in-person audition. I was getting ready to take the 2009 test again! That's how late it was. But I did get the invite for an audition in LA in February. I wasn't sure if I should go through all the trouble of going to an LA audition, but I decided that it's already been this long and I've gone this far, so why not. Besides, it should be fun.
